Selling diamonds in Johannesburg
A GIA certificate, or papers from another recognised laboratory, supports a stronger offer because the grade is already independently confirmed. Bring any certificate, valuation or receipt you have. If there is none, we grade the stone ourselves.
We buy loose stones and diamonds set in rings, pendants and earrings. Price follows the four Cs: carat weight, colour, clarity and cut. Natural and lab-grown stones are valued differently, so tell us which you have.
An insurance valuation is a replacement figure and is usually well above what a stone fetches on resale. We explain the difference plainly, so the offer makes sense.

Questions we are asked
- Which ID should I bring?
- Bring your South African ID (smart card or green book) or your passport. We cannot accept a driver's licence. By law we record who we buy from, including your address, so we cannot complete a purchase without valid ID.
- Is there parking at the office?
- Yes. There is free, secure on-site parking at 25 Rudd Road, Illovo, with a visitor bay for your appointment and security guards on duty.
- How am I paid?
- Once you accept the offer, payment is typically the same day. There is no obligation to sell if the figure is not right.
- Do you buy broken jewellery?
- Yes. We buy diamond jewellery that is broken or out of fashion. A chipped or loose stone, or a damaged setting, is assessed and priced on what it is.
- Do I need an appointment?
- Yes. We see clients privately and by appointment only, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, closed on South African public holidays. Book a time online and we will have an expert ready for you, or ask us to visit you instead.
